At Little Lodge, our Little Lodgers’ room prepares confident, capable children for their transition to Reception. Little Lodgers are valued members of the Arnold Lodge family who demonstrate resilience, creativity, and leadership as they prepare for school.
Our Little Lodgers care routine is thoughtfully designed to build school readiness across all areas of development. We tailor our approach based on each child’s individual needs and their progression towards Reception, supporting full independence in self-care and developing responsibility for their learning environment.
Little Lodgers experience structured phonics and literacy sessions, focused mathematics activities, investigations and explorations, rich imaginative play, and daily outdoor learning. We hold children’s views and opinions highly, discussing matters that are important to them each day during circle time.
Little Lodgers’ days are structured to mirror a school environment, with dedicated phonics and literacy sessions, focused mathematics activities, and opportunities for leadership and responsibility, ensuring children feel confident and ready for their exciting next steps into Reception.
We welcome children when they show readiness from the Little Learners room, typically from around 3½ years old. Little Lodgers remain with us until they transition to Reception, where they arrive as confident, capable children who are hard-working, honest and kind ready for their next adventure.
